It's only a rumour so far, but I heard it from a friend at swedens biggest metal magazine. More to follow...or not.

Heard this one last night on the Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles forums...
sounds like a load of crap, but who knows?

Most people are saying they wouldn't care if this was true, but I for one would be a at least a little saddened by the loss.

I was listening to the album "Det Som En Gang Var" just this morning.

Goddamn, the song "En Ring Til A Herske" is pure brilliance. It's that sorrowful vibe he captured...and ever so subtle are those clean male choirs in the background, everything co-existing as it should.

I've been listening to that one a lot lately, Mr. Keeley. You speak the truth.

Personally, Lost Wisdom/Han Som Reiste/Når Himmelen Klarner are probably the highlight of the album for me, but its all good!

Yeah, I think that because "En Ring.." is pretty sad sounding, it seems to fit the mood with his apparent death today.

All this Burzum speak means I'm going to have to put it on now.

By the way, I like the warmer tone in the guitar sound on Det Som. It's very evident on "Lost Wisdom" for example, and a whole lot different to that trebly fuzzy sound he got on Hyvis or Filosofem.

The intro riff to Lost Wisdom has been stuck in my head since yesterday! Simple, yet so great!

I need to get "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" really bad. Thanks to Décadent I already have the Filosofem reissue LP but I never listen to that.

Black metal is known throughout Norway. Even the customs officers at the airport are down with it (as witnessed in the headbangers journey 'documentary')

"The suicide is the ultimate victory over the body, because the body's natural instincts will force you to try and survive, no matter what, while the spirit and hugr (mind, "soul") always seek to return to the gods. The suicide is also very attractive because it allows me to demonstrate the will to remove the effete, and to give room for the young and healthy, even if the effete is me -- and naturally at one point I will become effete too, like we all will."

Found that in an interview done in 2005 for Michel's Metal Crypt.

Gaahl fucking rules.

Varg killing himself without finishing the promised album he was gonna do after his release from prison, would be fuckin lame.
