According to Blabbermouth (I know not exactly super-reliable). Antton (brother of Cronos) will leave the band to dedicate to his own one.

Drummer Antony "Antton" Lant has announced his departure from the pioneering British black metal band VENOM. "I have left for various reasons and would like to concentrate on my own band called DEF-CON-ONE," Antton — who is the brother of VENOM frontman Conrad "Cronos" Lant — tells BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

"Hell", the latest album from VENOM, was released in North America in September 2008 via Universal Music Enterprises.

It's a pitty since I like his drumming whne he replaced Abaddon for the 2000 album "Resurrection". Hope they find a suitable replacement since I quite like their last three albums, I believe the band had the spirit of the classic albums but had found a more polished sound.
