I know there are a few other fans here of Van Helsing's Curse, so I thought I'd post the following update from Myspace.

I would LOVE to see these guys at ProgPower one year! The Halloween theme would be great timing if the festival continues to be held in October.

Van Helsing's Curse Update
My Dear Tortured Souls,

So many of you have been inquiring as to the touring status of Van Helsing’s Curse for 2007, that I felt it necessary to post this letter.

Sadly, VHC will not be performing live this year. We have the opportunity to begin work on our second CD and feel we must take this time to start what will surely be a massive undertaking. Following up “Occulus Infernum” will not be an easy task.

I know many of you will be greatly disappointed that VHC will not be playing out this year but, if you’re not aware, “Occulus Infernum” has been reissued on the “Fangoria Musick” label with the original Alan Clark artwork and two new tracks: John Carpenter’s “Halloween” and “Cry Little Sister” from “The Lost Boys” soundtrack (with yours truly on lead vocals). It makes the perfect “pumpkin stuffer” this Halloween. You can find it at http://midnightsyndicate.com/vhc.htm

From everyone involved in Van Helsing’s Curse, our sincere apologies for disappointing you this year...we’ll make it up to you in 2008.

Carpe Noctem!

Snider is one of the coolest people I have ever met. I am not especially a Twisted Sister fan (though I like them) and I never saw his "Strangeland" movie, but the guy is down-to-Earth and exceptionally fun to talk to. He is passionate about rock'n'roll and horror. That is a winning combination with me.

Sort of a bad news/good news I guess. Their DVD is awesome though:headbang:

Agreed! I'll have to dig mine out to cheer myself up after the PPVIII festivities are over.

That's a bit disappointing. The show in Vagas last year was excellent.

Definitely -- It was even worth paying $200/night to stay at the Tropicana, which is...um...slightly less than a four-star establishment...

Really? Alexis Park is almost right across the street from The Hard Rock, and we paid about a half as much.

The DVD used to be availavble for free plus $5 shipping directly from the VHC web page. There are no links to it on their site now.

Ah, "Spooky TSO"! haha! Van Helsings Curse is GREAT! Kindof a bummer there won't be a tour this year, but I'm excited about the re-release with Cry Little Sister, and the new album! I was hoping it wouldn't be a one-time thing!

My parents went to school and used to party with Dee and A.J. Pero. You have no idea how surreal it is to see your mother in a loving embrace with Dee Snider in full TS gear, but he is a great guy. Wish he'd hurry up and get the legal issues surrounding Strangeland 2 taken care of. The first was awesome (in a low-budget, B-flick kinda way).

I have a cool story about Dee & the TS days (back on the YOu Cant Stop Rock & Roll tour with Queensryche opening) where he got me & my buddies in after being thrown out of the Wax museum for being underage :)

Also - he shot Strangeland here in Colorado Springs (dunno how taht happened) - and I missed out on the opportunity to be an extra (damn job) but did get to go to the Premiere and the after party. He was tripping on some of the stuff I had him sign :) Somewhere there is a big ass Strangeland poster that he signed - unless I gave it away already.

Somehow when I was married it didnt fit in with the living room decor (I know, WTF right? Captain Howdy goes with EVERYTHING).

Dee will always be cool in my book - hell, he even remembered the Wax Museum. I too am waiting for a VHC2 and a Strangeland 2.

Jeff

I wasn't that familiar with the hotels off the Strip, and I didn't want to end up at the Bates Motel! (Although the Tropicana wasn't much better...)

I'll know better next time.

Does anyone know if the dvd is still available and if not, is there anyone who would be willing to copy it for me?

I don't know if this is the DVD

but, the VHC website linked to a page that had the re-mastered Oculus Infernum for sale, and on the same page (below it) there's something marked "Experience VHC live. Here's a show from the '05 tour." I don't know if it's THE DVD, but it's A DVD.

That's the one. Used to be $5, but $14 isn't bad. It's well worth it.
