THIS WEEK ON YOUR CLASSIC METAL SHOW: On the show this week, Chris will force one of his favorite bands of the 80s on Neeley and the audience. That band is Vicious Rumors. One of the most underrated bands of the 80s thrash scene, Vicious Rumors have had a long career while flying under the radar in the San Francisco scene at the same time that bands like Death Angel, Metallica, Testament and Megadeth were all making big names for themselves. They have rebuilt their lineup with big names like Brad Gillis (Night Ranger/Ozzy) and James Rivera (Seven Witches/Helstar). They have a new album called WARBALL which we will do a New Music Listening Party for, and vocalist James Rivera will join us to chat about the new version of the band.
Next up, Zak Stevens, the former vocalist of Savatage, is back with his 3rd release from his post-'Tage project, Circle II Circle. BURDEN OF TRUTH seems to be a concept record very much in the vein of WASP's NEON GOD series or Queensryche's OPERATION MINDCRIME releases. Full of energy as well as that classic voice that powered Savatage for years, we'll proudly do a New Music Listening Party for BURDEN OF TRUTH, and Zak has agreed to call into the show to discuss things.
Finally, we'll do something a bit different. We've received a collection of classic underground Dutch power metal albums, which we will sample throughout the show. Bands like Defender, Hammerhawk and more are sure to become fan favorites. It's sure to be a rockin' show!
