Yesterday going to bed I decided to check the status of my old VHS tapes (where I have my whole video collection). I haven't check them in several years, and in this country mold is a curse.

Suddenly I found one that was not rewinded (I kept them all in the beginning), so I decided to see what was in it from that point up to the end. Talk about a mix! This is the playlist (and don't ask me why I have some of that stuff, O didn't even remember I have it):

Death - 'The Philosopher'
Sweaty Nipples - 'Demon Juice'
Prong - 'Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck'
KMFDM - 'A Drug Against War'
Therapy? - 'Nowhere'
Soundgarden - 'Spoonman'
Eric Clapton - 'Leyla' (unplugged)
Cathedral - 'Midnight Mountain'
Carcass - 'Heartwork'
Entombed - 'Wolverine Blues'
Fight - 'Immortal Sin'
Megadeth - '99 Ways To Die'
Sepultura - 'Refuse/Resist'
Guns'N'Roses - 'Yesterdays'
Varga - 'Greed'
Judas Priest - 'Johhny B Goode'
Scorpions - 'Under The Same Sun'
Pink Floyd - 'On The Turning Away'
Rata Blanca - 'Agord La Bruja'
Soundgarden - 'Outshined'
Sleep -'Dragonout'
The Poor - 'More Wine Waiter Please'
All - 'Guilty'
Rolling Stones - 'Between A Rock And A Hard Place'
Whitesnake - 'Still Of The Night'
Pink Floyd - 'Turning Back'
Meat Puppets - 'Backwater'
Aerosmith - 'Crazy' (Batgirl and Arwen lesbian, hah :p )
Guns'N'Roses - 'Garden Of Eden'
Def Leppard - 'Action'
Guns'N'Roses - 'Patience'
Alice Cooper - 'Lost In America'
Rush - 'Limelight'
Soundgarden - 'Rusty Cage'
Pride & Glory - 'A Horse Called War'
Coverdale & Page - 'Pride And Joy'
Therapy - 'Die Laughing'
Ozzy Osbourne - 'Time After Time'
Bruce Dickinson - 'Tears Of The Dragon'
Pennywise - 'Homesick'
Alice Cooper - 'Welcome To My Nightmare'
White Zombie - 'Feed The Gods'
Slayer - 'Seasons In The Abyss'

Most of this stuff I can't even conceive how I like it to have record it! Some brought beautiful memories.

What do you think?

That's great! I've got a bumch of old tapes like that also, it's great to pop one in every now and again.

Was digging through a bunch the other day and found the Moscow Music fest from 1989... with Skid Row, Crue, Ozzy, Bon Jovi and others.... had to scan through some of it.. :)

Great list! I have some VHS tapes too, with lists.

I'll have to do some typing. Did you do 2-, 4- or 6-hour taping? I filled mine to the brim with 6-hours of stuff per tape but the sound quality on some is not the greatest. What was your source? Cable? Satellite? Most of mine came from a public access cable channel...back when I watched TV that is. ;)

I have nine 6 tapes full with videos and/or concerts I either got from MTV, VH1, TBS and local video shows (from the good all days...several years ago) plus copies I made from original tapes (from friends). Among the amount of general videos from diverse bands I also have:

Sepultura - "Under Siege"
Napalm Death - "Live Corruption"
Rainbow - "Live Between The Eyes"
Alice Cooper - "The Nightmare Returns"

All these are in pretty lousy shape due to be copies and being old videotapes.

Also I have as original videotapes:

Alice Cooper - "Welcome To My Nightmare"
Black Sabbath - "The Black Sabbath Story, vols 1 & 2"
Black Sabbath - "The Last Supper"
Judas Priest - "Metal Works 73-93"
Motorhead - "Another Perfect Day"

Star One - "Live On Earth"
Motorhead - "25 & Alive Boneshaker"

Rick Wakeman - "Live"
Deep Purple - "In Concert with the London Symphonic Orchestra"

I have to see if I can transfer some of the videos to the HD in order to share some of that stuff here. :D

Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! Damn, that's metal. :D You have a great collection going.

Even if I knew how to get my videos onto my hd I don't think there's enough room. I've typed up the lists that I could find. I have 4 6-hour tapes. The fourth one is not quite full. I think I may have to start a new thread for my lists and see how it goes. All my vids were recorded from the public access cable channel...

That's a great mix there Vern !!! I love that "Seasons" video. I am a huge Lombardo fan (moreso than the band itself) and I love when he hits that China and the sand pours out of it. I've got some of those type tapes as well. One of my faves is Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun." The song is ok, but the video is freaky with the weird computer effects they do on people's faces and stuff.

I have a few tapes....somewhere around here. I have that Soundgarden "Black Hole Sun". I think I may get my old tapes out, and see what I have. I know I will freak myself out for my taste in music has changed so much :)

wildfyr,
Helmet - Milktoast!!! I'd like to see that :)

Anyone up for some good old video tape swaping? I've got about 30 old VHS tapes of 80's metal on MTv... along with a bunch of other shit. Like everyone else's old tapes, the quality varies and there's all kinds of cool forgotten stuff on them. :)

WILDFYR - I'd love to get copies of the 4 comps you have! Let me know if you'd like to set up a trade.

For that I recommend to see the video of 'War Ensamble' (live) that I also have, there is a take of Lombardo crossing the drumkit in the middle of the song, and I sware that is IMPOSSIBLE to do. Is one of the most amazing examples of dexterity I have seen.
I don't like Slayer (2-3 songs top), but Lombardo is an icon of a musician. When he joint Testament for "The Gathering" I was in seventh heaven with that line up.

delize: Nice choice.

The Crow movie music vid. It's got some funkiness in the audio but otherwise it's pretty clear.

Greeno: I'd be happy to do some trades but I'm going to need to make copies. I've toyed with the idea before but never followed through. Hopefully this time I will. ;-)

Here is the list for the fourth cassette...

TAPE 4

Sevendust - Black
Slayer - Angel of Death (Live Intrusion)
Fear Factory - Resurrection

C.O.C. - Dance of the Dead
Static X - Push It
Fear Factory - Cars
Sick Of It All - Potential For a Fall
Pivotman - [live in-studio show, 30-minutes]
Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark
Testament - Low
RATM - Killing in the Name (unedited)
Man-O-War - Blow Your Speakers
Morbid Angel - Where the Slime Lives
Anthrax & Public Enemy - Bring the Noise
Arch Enemy - The Immortal

RATM - Guerilla Radio

Saliva - Your Disease

There is some duplication of videos on all four but not much. Sometimes it was me being lazy during the taping of the shows and other times it was because the quality of the first taping was questionable. There were some instances where my TV reception was crappy but I taped anyway. Stuff like that. Anyway, I'll try to make some copies and I'll post here when I have some up for trade.

I would like to see that and yes, I don't think you need to be a Slayer fan to respect Lombardo. I consider him in the upper elite class with only a very few like Zonder and The Professor. Lombardo's specialty might be speed, but he does it with class and technique as well. I have heard faster, but not with such grace. It's hard to use the term "grace" with Slayer, but I think it fits as far as Lombardo is concerned.
