LOL - I would've posted earlier if I could've.

Anyway, this announcement alone basically affirms my decision to go next year. I'm also psyched that Glenn announced in will be later in the year this time, it helps me spread out my festival attendence next year (HC, Wacken, PP).

Since the Virgin Steele fans are apparently converging on this thread, can somebody perhaps yousendit a couple of their absolute best tracks so I can finally decide whether I've just missed the point with these guys or not? I own the Books Of Burning and Hymns To Victory releases, and I just can't get into them at all.

I think any time a festival lands a band that would seem deserving of a higher spot, but signs them to a lower slot, it's a huge boost for the festival.

As JK and I discussed earlier, I think we're guilty uf overestimating Virgin Steele's U.S. drawing power. They apparently can't command more money here, and to their credit, are willing to take less. I do think this is a wise move for them, as this is the premiere U.S. festival.

I've got Invictus and Kingdom Of The Fearless (they're both on Hymns To Victory). Giving them another listen now.

*time passes*

Invictus was actually slowly winning me over until those girly backing vocals came in. The next passage got me back on board though. Then the keyboard solo-ish bit with the stabs of guitar threw me back over. The admitted awesomeness of the main/starting riff threw me a rope for the last minute of the track. Overall, meh.

Kingdom Of The Fearless: Arrgh, cheesy synth-phonic intro... Aah, riffs, that's more like it... halfway through the track now, and this one's actually pretty good - like the solo, too. Yeah, that was fairly badass - I won't be joining the fanclub or anything, but I'll be more willing to listen to them in future...
