Vocalist Clémentine Delauney of Austrian symphonic metallers VISIONS OF ATLANTIS has provided an update on the songwriting process for the follow-up to their most recent studio album, 2018's "The Deep & The Dark". Currently promoting the band's first live set, "The Deep & The Dark Live @ Symphonic Metal Nights", Delauney was asked in an interview with Sonja of Napalm Records during this year's 70000 Tons Of Metal Cruise whether VISIONS OF ATLANTIS will continue in the direction of "The Deep & The Dark" for its next studio album. "I think it's going to be done pretty much in the same with 'The Deep & The Dark', except we have a new singer now, Michele [Guaitoli]," she said (see video below). "The vocal division and harmonies will be different with him, but we're looking forward to it. He's an amazing vocalist. The songs, we trying to keep track with 'The Deep & The Dark'. It's going to be a continuation of the symphonic metal, but it could be a couple of songs will show us under a different light. We need to evolve as a band. There's no point in doing 'The Deep & The Dark' Part II. The band needs to grow up and evolve. Those who really like that album will definitely not be disappointed." Regarding whether VISIONS OF ATLANTIS has anything special planned for the band's upcoming 20th anniversary, which will take place in 2020, Delauney said: "I think it's a topic we have to start up in the band. I got exactly the same reaction, like, 'Soon it's going to be our 20th anniversary.' But so far, there are no special plans to reveal, but I guess there will be something. We celebrated the 15th anniversary in our hometown, playing a special show with two or three of the former singers. That was really special. For the 20th, we'll definitely have to do something." VISIONS OF ATLANTIS released "The Deep & The Dark Live @ Symphonic Metal Nights", on February 22 via Napalm Records.
