Just a guess - it may be a ringmod + some distortion

I did an experiment and yes it looks like i was right - i got a very similar sound with simulanalog ds1 going into mda ringmod at ~30 hz

thanks, i'll be trying this out today! i got somewhat close with a vocoder,distortion and then slicing it up with a granulizer but ended up going off tangent,nothing like the puritania sound but still cool nonetheless..
