Guitarist/vocalist Michael Poulsen and bassist Kaspar Boye Larsen of Danish/American rock 'n' rollers VOLBEAT were interviewed by Joiz TV prior to the band's June 9 performance at the Greenfield festival in Interlaken, Switzerland. You can now watch the chat below. Asked if he had the same feeling when VOLBEAT released its sixth full-length album, "Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie", as he did when the band issued its debut, "The Strength / The Sound / The Songs", back in 2005, Poulsen said: "Oh, yeah. I feel like I get a new kid every time I release a new album. VOLBEAT is my baby. So it is a huge thing. We care about what we do, and, of course, we put a lot of work, energy and passion in creating the VOLBEAT music and recording. And it means a lot for us that the fans like it, but at the end of the day, we have to like it first, because we are going on the road and we wanna play music that we really love. And I think we just wrote the strongest record in our career so far. The reaction from fans and reviews have been amazing. It's going really, really good, and the sales are skyrocketing. It's going fast right now with the new record; it's already No. 1 in… I don't know… fifteen different countries on iTunes. It's getting crazy. So it feels good to have the new record out that we can share the love for the same music. So, yeah, for me, it's like taking care of that new child every time I release an album." "Seal The Deal & Let's Boogie" was released on June 3 via Republic Records. VOLBEAT will spend most of the summer in Europe, returning in August for SEETHER's Rise Above festival in Maine on August 6, the Heavy Montreal event on August 7, and an opening slot for METALLICA at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis on August 8.
