VST Synth for metal

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a VST synth that would in a metal context. I have used loads of VST instruments before but I have no experience with synths. The sound I am looking to replicate is from Ayreon's song Day Two: Isolation from the Human Equation album:

There's a couple things i use for stuff like this, though I don't have a ton of experience with synths. The program Guitar Pro has some surprisingly great synth stuff, but it's not a plugin. When I use it for anything like this I just export it at the right tempo into a wav. file and import it into the project. With the right tweaking it can really sound great. Also Halion Sonic is a decent synth plugin. It's VST as well. It came free with Cubase so I'm not sure the pricing on it.

Try VST synth plugin called Avatar ST... its free.. I think you'll find what you're looking for and more.
