I am just starting to get this mixing shit.

I would like some cool thrash songs to mix. Not into this newer metal crap, just more your testament, megadeth, sodom, destruction... You get the idea.

Don't know if this is relevant but there was a thread a while ago with a bunch of Metallica stems on it, from the Ride The Lightning era. Don't know if that is thrash myself though

Also I think theres a sticky in the Production Tips forum with loads of stuff in there, you're bound to found what you're looking for.

I was doing a cover of Symphony myself at one stage. Anyway that would be great Samakie.

FTM. Those stems you are talking about are post production. So all you can really do is play with the levels. Unless im thinking of different stems.

Soon as i put a amp sim on the palm mutes between the chords have unnatural distortion on them.

I think that has to do with my noisy cables, I cut some silence parts in the DI, but I guess I didnt totally clean it
