WAR KABINETT video

Like the mix, trying to listening without laughing at the video (vocalist in particular). It might just be me, but it seems a bit empty down the middle of the stereo field - I've just been listening to Tyr's latest album so I'm only going against that. That said, guitar/bass tones are seriously wicked.

Love everything about this.... except watching the singer. Guy is trying to look WAY too serious.

Toms sound HUGE, awesome!
not too much a fan of the rest of the drums, but they fit the mix and the style perfectly
Rest sounds nice :headbang:
the panning and the choir and the chorus is a bit distracting imo, sounds like it's beeing placed there and not really connected to the mix

Hey man i just checked out the vid, yes the vocalist is funny but in a good way!! haha i don't know how to explain it. and believe it or not, though i don't usually listen to this type of singing, i really think his singing is awesome! not kdg. the chorus is great actually and he sounds really good there.
May i ask what you used for the guitars? i am listening on my laptop now so everything is crappy but ill transfer it to my monitor setup as soon as i wake up tom. (sorry i know you were expecting comments on the mix..)

hey just listened through monitors, i thought the mix was a bit too bright a TINY BIT, but that's after a couple of hours of trying to reamp a guitar DI of which i dont like the sound :( Also i am no one worth listening to haha.

Otherwise great work Brett i think it kicks ass. nice man!

No just one that I did months (years) ago that I tend to like too much lol :)

The band wanted a kind of Dimmu Borgir "Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia" master, so it's loud as fuck (seriously, it's kind of ridiculous in places but they like it) and on the bright side but that's their call really. Their music is very interesting and very very diverse, they blend influences like Gamma Ray (the guitar player from Gamma Ray does a guest solo on this album) and Iced Earth with Dimmu Borgir and Slayer or Testament and Judas Priest... That's really pure Metal, even though they recorded a real choir and a real orchestra.
