Thumbs up or thumbs down? Testing the kvltude of the forum. I'm seriously surprised this album is getting a load of slack. Is Watain really so popular in Euro Disneyland to warrant such ire? This is a mighty fine album, if I do say so myself. " They sold out , I loved their first two albums before they were winning mainstream Euro music awards. Now I can no longer play their albums on my ipod touch and grimace to everyone at my University. Wahhhhhhhhhh"

FOAD kvtl kvnts. :loco:

don't care too much for Watain but I agree that this album is far from deserving buckets of Internet sewage waste. It's better than the sleeping tablet Lawless Darkness

agree pretty much with the above

surprisingly, i don't hate it, but i wouldn't buy it either

The album is really pretty good. It's over-produced for sure, but the music is quality.

This would have been my AOTY if it weren't for Summoning, but then again I have listened to it far less times than I expected to have by now. I must delve deeper...

I'm rather unfamiliar with the whoring Watain has done over the years to garner such ire from bedroom badasses. Pretty mature responses over here as expected, but if one were to utter Watain's name on certain e-peen methull forums a witch hunt for being untr00 would erupt. Which is rather humorous considering most people were deep throating these guys not too long ago after Casus Luciferi. Once a group crosses that threshold and begins marketing themselves in a way to earn some fat stacks, all forthcoming material is vetted with a fine tooth comb of criticism that an upstart band's release isn't subjected to. Whoring is rather unsavory, but I'm not going to deprive myself of decent music to follow some dark ethos of elitism. Too old for that nonsense, and such senescence opens my eyes to why these middle aged metallers do what they do in terms of marketing themselves to the "masses." If you got a small following, and are pushing forty, only a fool would turn down some green backs to appease some pimply faced twenty somethings who still believe in such falsehoods as "ideals."

This is pretty much why I don't follow metal news sites and the lot. I don't need to know a goat damn thing about the band, or their exploits. Is the music good, is it sincere? If so, that's good enough for me. The album in question sounds perfectly methull to me, call it over polished like the hood of Lurch's mini, but it's irrefutably metal music. Even the ballad mid album is a ok by my estimation. :D
