Bloodstock Open Air organizers have released the video below, along with the following message:
“Bay Area thrash metal legends, Forbidden, made their long-awaited return to UK soil with a devastatingly powerful full set performance at Bloodstock Open Air 2024, proving that their legacy is not just alive—it’s on fire. Taking over the main stage at Catton Park on August 10th, Forbidden unleashed a relentless barrage of classic thrash fury that left thousands of fans in awe.
With a setlist packed full of fan favorites and technical masterpieces, Forbidden delivered a sonic assault that was both precise and punishing. Every riff, solo, and breakdown reminded the crowd exactly why Forbidden are considered pioneers of the Bay Area thrash movement. Their performance combined old-school intensity with modern-day muscle, captivating longtime fans and winning over a new generation of metalheads.
From the explosive opening to the final crushing moments, the band’s energy never let up. The pit was a warzone of headbangers, moshers, and diehards screaming every lyric back at the stage. Forbidden’s tight musicianship, scorching guitar work, and commanding stage presence made this one of the most talked-about sets of BOA 2024.
This performance wasn’t just a comeback—it was a declaration. Thrash is eternal, and Forbidden are still among its fiercest torchbearers.”
Setlist:
“Parting of the Ways”
“Infinite”
“Out of Body (Out of Mind)”
“Forbidden Evil”
“March Into Fire”
“Twisted Into Form”
“Step by Step”
“Through Eyes of Glass”
Meanwhile, Forbidden guitarist Craig Locicero has issued the following update from Sharkbite Studios:
“A capture from our recent recording sessions with Chris Kontos, Zack Ohren and myself. We are essentially the team that’s putting this thing together.
Zack is probably the most skilled and fastest engineer I’ve ever worked with. He knows how to get eZACKtly what I want every time I work with him.
We first worked together alongside of Robb Flynn recording my previous band, Dress The Dead. Then Chris and i worked with him on the Boneless Ones record. Both projects sounded amazing because he captures the essence perfectly.
This time the stakes are higher with Forbidden. I knew we needed Zack to engineer.
As we were rolling along, Chris & I realized that we should have Zack take a shot at mixing the record. It was sounding too good as we went along to not give it a try. That turned out to be the right play.
We had been talking to a few world class mixeng gurus that could have definitely done their thing and killed it in their own way. No doubt.
Ultimately, I want Forbidden to sound like Forbidden. Going back and forth with people in other time zones or countries could really slow things down. We know what we want and Zack is getting it for us.
I also want to give a ton of credit to my songwriting and production wingman, Kontos! He vision and ideas are incredibly valuable to me and this band. He’s my sounding board, my writing partner, and incredible drummer and one of the best friends I’ve ever had.
Chris is my Bro!
So yes, that’s the Production team in this picture taken by the Legendary Bay Area photographer, Bungee Brent.”
