German rock legends, Scorpions, performed their classic, “Blackout”, during their set at France’s Hellfest in 2022. Professionally-filmed footage of the performance can be viewed below:
It was revealed in June 2024 via Deadline that Ali Afshar‘s ESX Entertainment has signed on to develop and produce the musical biopic, Wind Of Change, which will tell the story of three unlikely friends whose passion for rock n’ roll fuelled their rise from the ashes of post-World War II Germany to the global stardom in the 1980s as the multi-platinum rock band, Scorpions. French-born filmmaker Alex Ranarivelo (American Wrestler: The Wizard) will direct.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone Brazil, singer Klaus Meine says Ranarivelo is a big fan of the band and it was he who came up with the idea of making a biopic instead of a documentary.
The vocalist says (translated): “We are still in the process of setting up the whole project. We want filming to start soon, but we don’t know exactly when yet. We hope they can finish everything in the next few months, so that it coincides with the band’s 60th anniversary. They will tell the story of Scorpions from a different point of view. The producer is Persian, lives in Los Angeles and has worked very closely with Warner Bros for many years.”

Scorpions’ next live date is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16 at Arena BRB Mané Garrincha in Brasília, Brazil with Judas Priest and Europe. Find the band’s complete tour itinerary, as well as ticket links, here.
