Gonna be interesting to try these out ... 1000$ is a bit steep though, for "just another" plugin suite ...

If it's on the level of the SSL suite, I'm sold. According to reports, it IS and may even be better (of course, to taste).
The SSL bundle was also $1000 when it was released (native version) but now it can be had for almost half that.
I gotta demo this ASAP..

That's the thing, I already have the SSL suite and I wonder if I will need the API one. I never use the URS A-Series EQ on anything and that's supposed to be modelled after API, isn't it?

Yup.. is use the URS api ALOT on electric guitars so if this is about the same or better i'm stoked.

haha. me too. i use the URS API graphic on guitars in pretty much every much every mix I do.

Is there really a difference between eq plugins? (as far as sound goes)
...aside from the different features, i.e. 10 band vs 4 band, Q control etc...

I'm actually more interested in the upcoming URS Channel Strip Pro at the moment... It seems to have pretty much all of the URS compressors & eqs incorporated into one plugin and they've added some more features too. The eq:s are going to use new algorithms too. It's supposed to come out this week. I guess that might be the reason why waves released the Api collection so quickly without any advertising.

Try a few EQs in a row with the same settings and listen to the differences. If you can't hear them you can better quit the production business right now
