I'm here to talk about a band called WDNFRA,( Pronounced Woodenfra). I happen to be a friend of the singer, Mat, and i want to help them out by promoting the band.
WDNFRA is a pure heavy metal band from Montreal. They really rock and i think they're on there way to be one of the most sucessful Metal band from Canada so far.
Why? because they have this 80's metal spirit that everyone liked but also this really good modern touch , theres a good mix of kick ass solos, heavy riffs, and good sing along vocals like we are used too in bands such as Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth, etc... but add to that some intense breakdowns, great tempo changes, and even , to my surprise, some blast beats that actully fitted without being death metal, even some gravity blast beat to come on the album track called ''Sleazy''. I often assisted to jam sessions and this song is one hell of a track, i could not really imagine what would a gravity blast beat do in a so called ''regular trash song'' but it really is amazing and they are surprises like that in every songs of the album. What is great is also that the mood changes from a song to another, going from 240 trash tempos to some 110 smooth riffs that takes you somehwere else. Inner Pain is a song you have to keep your eye one, there longest and deepest on the album in my opinion. So yeah, as a whole the album they are about to record will make people react from all around the world! they reached the 100,000 views mark on myspace a little while ago and it keeps growing greatly everyday.
They are about to hit the studio with sound engineer Pierre Remillard (Cryptopsy, Kataklysm, Despised Icon) at www.wildstudio.ca and the album is planned to be release in october '09. WDNFRA Sure is different as the 3 bands i just mentionned, but the sound is gonna be just as insane!

WDNFRA are really motivated guys, all aged from 18 to 20 and in my opinion its really just a matter of time before they suceed, the first album will help, and they are planning to go back to the USA in 2010 for a much bigger tour to promote the album(the first one was 3 gigs in a row in great California in march 09). And for sure they wont forget Canada!

What you'll hear on there page is the 8-9 months old demo so of coure theres a big difference on what will be the album compare to what you will hear on the demo but it gives a good idea of the band! They are also live videos available from the page so be sure to check them out!
