Weird PT Record Enable problem

I remember having this problem a few weeks ago, and somehow solved it, but don't recall how. When I record enable a track, the input goes way up and stays there, unmoving. No sound happens, and as soon as I disable record mode it goes away. If I try to record this way, it makes two lines for a soundwave, but again, no sound. Any idea what this is or how to fix it?

I've seen that as a momentary bug.
Restart PT or computer and it goes back to normal.

Make sure you have the most recent patches as well. That definitely looks like a software bug.

The latest PT patches? I thought the latest for LE 8 was 8.5 or whatever it was, which I have. How do I find out what the latest patch for Pro Tools is? Avid's site is such a mess that it's hard to find what you're looking for.

Also it should be noted that there is a short popping noise when enabling and disabling the track for recording.

You are looking for the CS updates. You didn't initially identify a version so I had no way of knowing. 8.05 may well be the last thing released though.

Thanks! Yeah, looks like that was the last version. Just curious, how did you get to this page from the Avid homepage? I literally am unable to navigate that site...

Just wanted to say that you guys were right, restarting, unhooking my interface and restating PT solved it.
