What a waste

Awww.... Send it my way Sixx, I'd still love to read it :kickass:

And if you want an entertaining interview, send some Q's to Final Stage, ours are so entertaining, they now base magazines and TV series off them. :loco:

Hmmmmm.... Final Stage interview. You know, that might work. Allow me to consult with my editor on that one. Got the disc and have given it a number of spins already. I think I will still do something with the Gus G. interview...
Maybe I will just post it here if nothing else. Again nice fellow, I just don't think he's outgoing enough to do interviews. I heard this froma friend that writes for another site. He didn't much to work with. Eventually the webmaster pulled the interview from the page due to lack of content and interest...

There's nothing worse than a band or musician that pisses on an interviewer like that. You spend time, effort and often money to do an interview and they can't even take 10 minutes to give decent answers.

I run Deadtide.com and the worst interview I ever had was a phone with Cornelius from Solefald. Guy spent 30 minutes muttering and coughing. Maybe he was sick or just really tired, but I got the impression that he was just sitting there getting stoned off his ass and wasting my time. I ended up throwing the tape away and never transcribing it. AND what makes me mad about (even today, 5 years later) is that I LOVED Solefald going into that interview and came out of it barely able to to listen to their stuff. Totally ruined that band for me. For a long time I thought it was my fault (it was one of my first interviews), until one day I remembered my FIRST interview with Martin Walkyier (Sabbat, Skyclad), who spent 45 minutes talking my ear off, answering all my silly questions, and COMPLETELY winning me over. That's what a good interviewee does. Anything less is a bad interviewee and the blame / responsibility lies with them.

Not sure why I'm ranting about this, but it irritates me. Don't even get me started on the too-cool-for-school black metal kids and their one-line answers (*cough*DRAUGAR*cough*) or the "Sure we'll do an interview!" bands that never come through for you (*cough*KATAKLYSM*cough*NACTHMYSTIUM*cough*) or the PR people that promise interviews for bands with no intention of actually getting the interview done (*cough*EVERY LABEL ON THE PLANET*cough*)....

Gugh... now I'm all pissy >:\

Well, I don't know that he pissed on me. I'm not into golden showers anyway... Or maybe I don't pick up on that right away. It was a shame that he wasn't able to get into it. More so because I got the questions from the folks on this forum! Most of them anyway.

Sixxi you always crack me up

As for the interview, sad indeed but my guess this comes with the job. Sometimes you find astounding clever, charming people who make wonderful interviews and sometimes you find mononeuronal people that waste your time. You find very talkative people and shy ones. Don't dismay and keep on working ;)

Yeah, Wyv's right... even if he were really eager to do the interview... some people are just shy and scared to really speak what's on their mind. Sort of shocked me though because on the Dream Evil DVD he seems outgoing and geniunly funny. Maybe it was simply because he was more comfortable around DE.

I used to do interviews for my house of metal site and many of the bands did what Sixx just described. I dropped most of the interviews I've done based on the reason that they seem so contrived and you learn almost nothing new about the band, which is why interviews are done in the first place!

Cool, Sixx! :headbang:

Yeah, I should clarify that I'm not saying he INTENTIONALLY was a jerk, but if you're too shy, too tired, too sick, unprepared, etc. to an interview, and you go ahead and do one anyway, you're doing a disservice to the person taking time to interview you.

That was the point amongst all my ranting.

And I'm glad you liked what you saw on Deadtide! We update with new reviews every 1-2 days, so visit often.

Right, And that is what I was saying. It's not like he was an ass, he just wasn't into it for whatever reason....

oh, if you interview him again...you should ask him if he's ever caught anybody jerkin' off! He'll have more to say, they all would.
