Hi guys! i haven`t seen a lot of comments on this production:

I dont love the music but have to admit that Dino is a talented bastard!
Anyways, i think the overall mix is quite good (though it lacks exitement in the sense that mix/production wise there aren`t any surprises along the album and it is not very dynamic)

Non the less there is something in the sound that i like and i just wanted to share it with you guys and here some opinions.

Generic boring chugga riffage = talanted bastard?

And god damn that singer is a douchebag.

Tim Yeung is fucking awesome though.

Well i was not talking about this song specifically in regards of Dino`s talent. But hey, give him some credit for what he did in FF! a lot of things we hear today were influenced by them. The whole stop and go double drumming+one note guitar riff owes a lot to them.

Also bare in mind that most of what we here today is "generic boring chugga riffage" so....

I think this guys writes down some pretty interesting/characteristic harmonies for the choruses (specially in the old Fear Factory stuff)
Also they are a lot of subtleties in his playing that we can appreciate if we listen really close.

I`ve seen a couple of this kind of critics lately. It seems that now everything is common place hahaha, well it is, and that is the nature of music evolution. Something shows up, then it is copied and reproduced, then fades, and so on....
But we must pay more attention. I read that a lot of people are bashing down bands like soilwork, telling that the music is lame. Man, if you listen closely those guitar dudes are all about the details!!!!! their last album is superb in that sense! and the did something quit unusual. They mixed extreme metal rhythms with mayor scales/modes. that is quite revolutionary shit if you pushit all the way! but one must pay attention to catch that kind of stuff.

Did he actually mix the record? I know he was involved in the production

"The band recorded its debut album, Bleed the Fifth in early 2007 with production duties handled by former Machine Head guitarist Logan Mader. "

Dirty Icon Production = Logan Mader and Lucas Banker

He has also mixed one of the best albums of all time:

Gojira - The Way of All Flesh - (2008) - Engineered Drums, Mixed & Mastered album.

I always forget to check the Gojira album! it is not even available where i`m from jajjaaa

I liked the first album, even if lyrics where like "yo, man, I'm mad and Ima break yo face" and some riffs where kinda generic. But the second album is pretty boring, and the new singer sucks.
