im a logic pro user! i have pro tools and really dont like it. i love the feel of the workflow that logic has. i havent tried cubase but i have used cakewalk, audition, fruity loops, haha audacity.

Honestly, I keep switching back and forth from Cubase to Reaper. Used Logic for some time before I switched back to PC. Had an education license for Pro Tools 8 M-Powered, before I sold it with my Fast Track Ultra. I loved the mixing flow in Pro Tools, and I still miss Elastic/Beat Detective, but heh, for minor adjustments, Audio Warp is enough, and for general editing, I'm too used to slip editing to go back right now, honestly.

Cubase 5.1. The update 6.0 doesn't tickle my fancy. Very easy, but powerful DAW with smooth workflow abilities.

Only think I have to complain with Cubase is the constant switching around in the mixer with "show inputs", "show sends", etc. But I tend to use sends a lot less with Cubase than I do on other DAWs though...

I find it quite amazing that a 60 bucks piece of software does a similar / the same job that some 600$ software, + active developers who actually listens to the public, and is frequently updating. Plus, its update plan is so fucking awesome. I also like the idea of a "one track type"... It can be a folder, VSTi, audio, MIDI, only thing needed is to double click in arrangement view. The idea is great, the workflow is intuitive, and editing is really, really more than easy.

This.

I use Reaper with Adam Wathans ProTools customization pack, honestly, I can't believe how smooth the workflow is. I can't thank him enough for the time and effort he put into creating it.

Another awesome thing about it is when I'm using others' Macs, I can find my way around ProTools without looking looking like a complete moron

+1 to every sentence

Pro Tools here. Used to use Cubase and just couldn't get on with it for anything other than midi editing. And Logic just makes me go FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Ableton Live 8.0. Does anybody here use it?

I used Ableton Live for the longest time because when I started I was doing alot of Chiptune/8bit/Dance music, so the DAW was very ideal.
I made the switch to Cubase because a producer better than me said it was time to upgrade to a DAW with a better "engine". I suppose that has something to do with the way the file is exported? Anyway, since then Cubase has been a breeze and it's had less of a learning curve than any DAW I've demoed.
