Austin has such great places to buy music and books:
Cd's:
The Curse of Blefusco - "The Island of Terra Immobilis" (odd soundtrack scored by an even odder avant-garde group)
A Silver Mt. Zion - "Pretty Little Lightning Paw" (great post-rock)
Genesis - "Foxtrot (the best from Genesis, superb)
My Bloody Valentine - "Loveless" (haven't heard much, though what I've heard has been warm yet abrasive)
Mike Patton/John Zorn/Ikue Mori - "Hemopheliac" (ehhhh, it's interesting?)
John Zorn - "Magick" (awesome string quartet based around the necronomicon and a brilliantly impossible duet for bass clarinet)
Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum - "Grand Opening and Closing" (the non-metal stuff is interesting, the metal stuff is too tongue and cheek)
Tangerine Dream - "Rubycon" (in my top three favorite for them, following "Atem" and "Phaedra")
Books:
The Bhagavad Gita
Rare Words
and I'm picking up Garden State tomorrow.
