what do you think about this guitar?

I'm not a big fan of Ibanez, with exception to the Prestige line. For the money, though, I'm not so sure you could do much better.

What other guitars have you looked at?

i have an ibanez rg350. It is very similar to that guitar. I have been very satisfied with the guitar! The neck is killer.

I'm sure it's a fine guitar. I'm not a huge fan of Ibanez necks, but that's just personal preference. It looks like a pretty good guitar, and the best part is that you can easily change pickups and add upgrades as your tone preferences change.

I like H-S-H p/u configurations quite a bit.

I had one of those for a brief period, but I found it to be a rare guitar that was actually of higher quality than what you pay for it. Very comfy. Of course that could have just been a particularly good specific guitar, but I always thought that make was one of the best ways to go in the ibanez field, especially around that price range

here i will probubly be getting it next week when i get paid. i like it but i want to know what you guys think. i did get a chance to play it for a while.
I'd say that take your time and play it for while (for while I mean 1-2 hours).
You can't say anything about guitar (except look), if you haven't played it.
It looks rather good. I'd maybe buy it, but I just bought Carvin DC-747 yesterday. It's awesome.

i have played it but not that long. it seemed pretty good, but i will ask them if i can use it durring my lesson (half hour) and i would play with it after/before the lesson (if they still have it that is). does anyone know about that tremolo? i have read some reviews and some say it is horrible.

well i played it and my guitar teacher likes it too, but the action is almost too low. it causes some fret buzz but it dosnt come through the amp, and one of the screws that screws the locking nut on is gone but it should be fine without it for a while at least. the only thing i can think of that i dont really like about it is the tremolo. the whamy bar dosnt screw on or anything, you just push it in and it stays in place for it doing that. its wierd cause i have never seen any do that.

Ibanez sells some of the best guitars for the money. There is no doubt you will get $400 worth of use out of that guitar. As far as someone "liking" a particular guitar, it is nothing more than personal taste, but what I will say about Ibanez (less signature models) is that you will almost always get your money's worth. They are well made instruments and tend to be a bit more versatile than many guitars really geared towards "metal" players as they normally have a nice clean tone whereas many Jacksons and many BC Rich's etc. have a pretty poor clean tone.
