Lots of old school hard rock and melodic heavy metal. Like Sabbath, Fates Warning, KISS, Rainbow,WASP, Savatage, that type of stuff. I'm starting to crave the heavier, faster stuff again,though.

I dont know why but I have been listening to alot of Black/Death Metal I was just on a 2 year Power Metal kick I have been hearing alot of Vehemence,Satyricon,Morbid Angel,The EverDawn,Obituary shit like that

Panic Cell (Baldy's band and a cool band featuring an intense two guitar attack with high quality and unique lead and harmony vox)
Slayer - Seasons specifically. This is their masterpiece. All the power only Slayer can give but melody they have never offered before or since.

I actually put off all my favourite old school bands when I started listening to some underground bands, which aren't bad. It's the guitar solos that got me listening to 'em again... not to mention the catchy lyrics!

I've been listening to Poison's "Talk Dirty to Me" for the past week.

The "favorite guitar solo" thread made me pull out some old Dio and even White Lion today. I had almost forgotten how good the guitaristfor WL Vito Bratta was. I would love to hear that guy play in a prog band.
