What is MAD TV ?

Mad TV works in 3 phases: The Old Seasons, the Middle Seasons and the New Seasons.
The Old Seasons were amazing.
When the show started, it had a funny cast (who can now be seen playing minor roles in various movies and tv shows), great skit concepts, and it was mostly original also. It held true to alot of the stuff that they had in Mad Magazine, which says something at least. It was more of a satirical parody that played on more political and individual stuff than pop-culture fads like it does now. There was a unique balance between stupidity and sense in the writing of it, which is why I still like watching the episodes from long ago.
The Middle Seasons were good and had some classic skits, but overall, wasn't as good as the Old Seasons. They started doing more parodies and stuff, and it became more oriented to be part of pop culture rather than just a good sketch comedy show in its own little world. Some members of the original case went off to do their own thing, and the new people brought in some new elements that were great, and others that weren't. They began to focus more on celbrities and stuff, and it became more of 1 legendary skit mixed in with others that aren't as funny.
The New Seasons are just irritating. Now, it's all just brainless humor, and just endless attempts to make every single skit as over the top as they possibly could. They recycled jokes and plots like environmentalists and paper, and everything was just impresion-impression-shitty recurring character-impression-recurring character, etc. The plots had no point at all except to shell out the same jokes over and over again, and whenever they did try anything original, it didn't come out that good anyway, because it turned into a failed attempt at going over the top.
That's my brief opinion of Mad Tv.
