what is 'Uber' metal??

To get the diaeresis over a captial u, you just need to press Alt+0220. Thus Ü and then you can make all sorts of words that are correctly spelled. Such as Über.

That is, of course, assuming you are using Unicode, which I assume you are since there really is no other way to post on this board. Cheers!

Well, the term "uber"(fuck you) generally means "largely" or "a lot of," which means that whoever told you there is such a genre called "uber-metal" is a flaming retard...

Super pretty much works, too. Superior, maybe would be better. Translation is rarely straight-forward with adjectives.

Ubermanch and Superman have often been compared.

I've never heard of such a genre.

No, Über means "over" in English. That's why in Nazi Germany, the Nazis were "Übermensch" and the Jews were "Üntermensch," it meant that Germans were better and Jews were "under."

"Untermensch", it is.

There is no Unicode in use on this board.

Uber means super in german. You know the uber soldier...never read that expression? Means super soldier...anyway no such thing as super metal.

"Uber" can mean "over," "above," or "super," depending on the context. The term "Ubermetal" suggests that it is metal that is above or better than all other metal. Doesn't sound like it would be a genre or anything - it sounds like a term some metalhead would make up to humorously describe their favorite band.
So to me Nile, Suffocation, Decapitated, etc. are Ubermetal.
