...honestly, why are they so damn good? what do you think is the recepy?
I think its their melodic songs, with the catchy riffs, that is tatooed to yer brain. And I have noticed most finnish bands have a love for melody, whether its pagan/viking/folk tunes or completly homemade melodies... finns own in that perspect! :headbang:

Sound off Folks!

What makes Kalmah so great: Kalmah is great.
First of all those melodic songs/riffs.
Pekkas amazing (and someway scary:) singing voice.
Anttis solos, I just love those ass kicking solos.
Lyrics.. first of all Pekka has better english as I do (ha ha..). But the idea behind those words/senteces are amazing.
Perkele! onhan se kotimainen suohevi aina parasta! ainoaa laatuaan.

For me it is the melodies. Almost every song has a memorable melody that I can whistle for hours after hearing it. But after the release of the new album I have to add the vocals. I love the vocals and the step the band took into the heavier direction. Very well done.

The feeling, man, the feeling!! you dont listen to music coz of the different sounds put together or certain musical rules are fulfiled, you listen to music becouse it tells you something and awakes something magical inside you! You see music tells you somthing about the feelings and emotions of the writers and transfers those feelings to yoU!! ok I admit i'm drunk but sitll i hold on to that! :headbang: :kickass:

Man thats the truth! I dont care if you are drunk, you are right man!
and to be drunk is not bad, alcohole and womens holes :kickass:

Those riffs! Kalmah is the only band that causes uncontrollable movement in me, even when I'm not drunk :Smug: I always "wake up" to noticing my foot tapping or some other part of me twitching (now don't misunderstand...).
Oh, and I like the lyrics too, I think it adds loads of depth to the music to not have every song tell of death, alcohol, shadows or the reaper. That stuff is really REALLY getting old.

How to say... I love Kalmah because when I listen to their music, it gives me this sort of inner "magical" adrenaline flow feeling.
Their music and riffs are so brutal YET so melodic at the same time; quite a hard but amazing blend to get in music.

thats simple. for one, they're REAL death metal, not the crappy wannabes we've been getting lately. but if that's not enough, Antti is VERY diverse with the guitar, I mean compare Groan of Wind, Hades, Mindrust, and Withering away. they're very good, original melodies. Pekka is freaking awesome and has that scream that says "show me it hurts inside and out", and the lyrics are 100% original. them and Lamb of God are the most hardcore s*** I've ever heard
