Hmm... can I just state that I haven't heard Bodom in 2 years, never posted on this board, and am a frequent poster on the Opeth board.. I was just trying to see what you guys over here would think of something like that. I know there's a bit of rivalry between these bands as two of the larger bands in the metal scene these days, wanted to see how you guys held up to a bit of criticism. Frankly, you took it a lot better than the Opeth board would have taken something similar aimed at them. Opeth board is pretty sad these days, but there are still some interesting threads/people/ideas around.

Its not so much the fact that bodom are better, but the fact that Opeth are boring to me. I hear people saying Blackwater Park is one of the greatest cds ever. I think its no where near that!

I like them to, but only listen to them when I am in a lazy mood (background music) The songs are sometimes a little to long (and boring) for me. I guess it's a matter of taste. COB NEVER bores me!!

I saw opeth live in march 2003 and the show was boring as fuck so rather than go mad i just sat on the front barrier and watched them play and they are fucking amazing musicians and i love what they do its just not something i would pay to see live again unless i wanted to steal a few guitar riffs

CoB can bore me.....when for three consecutive weeks, everyday, at least 3 hours a day when I listen to an MP3 CD with al albums on shuffle, it can bore me for a day or two. Then I listen to 'My Arms, Your Hearse' which I consider to be a brilliant album by the way (love the Celtic Frost cover!), or QOTSA, Tool, DT, Barathrum, Finntroll, or anything I feel like.....

Personally, I think CoB is WAY better. But, that´s personally, as it should be. I you like one band more than the other, you could say that. But there´s no use in trying to explain how much the band you don´t like sucks.... Vindicate is just stupid, but ahh well, the world is filled with stupid people.. Just let them be

It bothers me that the community over here seems so much more mature and accepting... thanks for the positive response, guys (aside from Needled, but his agitation towards Opeth fans is pretty understandable), you've convinced me to dl a Bodom album or two sometime... any recommendations for a place to start?

thats where debates will start. i say sample a bit from each album...and buy what you like. as for my opinion on the opeth vs bodom thing, this board gets alot of shit from others saying that we're a bunch of fanboys etc, but frankly, a lot of us just find it all amusing and/or pathetic (and yes i will generalize for the rest of the board members so piss off guys/galsIAmEternal said:
