What's the best Vietnam war movie?

-Jacob's Ladder (ok so it's not strictly about the war, but goddamn is it a good flick)

I'm going with Platoon, because it a) had great acting, b) had great actors, c) had tons of wicked action, and d) was directed by Oliver Stone.

Apocalypse Now = teh overrated

Totally Platoon, Full Metal Jacket at a close second. Apocalypse Now was decent, but meh. Oh, and Forest Gump in 3rd.

Honestly, I think I prefer We Were Soldiers to any of the movies on that list, so I'll go with "other".

yeah. We Were Soldiers was a very good movie, so was Platoon though. I'd have to watch them both in order to decide.

I disagree (obviously), but I do like Platoon and it's probably my favorite of the movies that were on the list.

I think from the list though, it's a toss up between Platoon and Full Metal Jacket.

Heh, forgot to include The Deer Hunter. That's worthy of mention just because it has the best "russian roullette in a vietnamese POW camp by the river starring robert de niro and christopher walken" scene ever.

Put it on your list. Even if you still go with Platoon/Full Metal Jacket, it's a very solid movie.

Full Metal Jacket!! its also one of the few Kubrick films that isnt ludicrously over rated. his movies are good, but i mean damn. too many people drool way too much over that guy.
