So they come without wheels in order to better couple with the floor. I thought we don't want cabs to couple with the floor but whatever...

How do you go about that in a live situation? Do you have a case with wheels for you Orange cabs or do you acuatally carry them around all the time?

I had an Orange 2x12 that I surprisingly didn't like at all really. I thought I would love it, but it had a strange low end. They do sound big, I'll give them that, but the low end wasn't tight at all. I'd like to try out the 4x12 though.

Yeah, the coupling thing is strictly for in-the-room chugs, cuz it'd probably be a nightmare in a roaring live mix (especially with high-gain guitars) and DEFINITELY a nightmare in a recording

As for the sound, from all I've heard the word that comes to mind is MIDS. Not as stuff sounding mids like the Mesa Stiletto, but more like core mids around 1k; listen to Swallow the Sun's "Hope" or the tone in this thread for an idea.

I dig my 4x12 orange. They are pretty dark cabs. But the low end is massive and tight if you dial your amp right! With my fireball it sounds kill.

Guitarist in my band has an Orange full stack which includes a straight and slant Orange cab. We use a dolly to move them.

You

and you

And Let it burn: I guess the midget servants might have told you how the carry it around so please pass on your knowledge! :goggly:
I just use my trusty midget servants

I've seen people screw plastic runners to the bottoms and just drag them around. Something like the rails on old 80s skateboards.

mines in a flight case...

my back and car hate me

Oranges are very directional, stand 4 feet to the left or right in a live situation and you''re muted. They're very crunchy and warm and tight sounding though. Great cabinets!
