What's with all this emo shit in metal these days

"Bring on the wizards, bring on the clowns..." :Smug: Well, there are not many lyricists like Martin Walkyer or Warrel Dane ("...dreamer lies in velvet sleep..."), but WTF? I can listen to Dark Saga, and ignore the lyrics. It's pure rock'n'roll, and I would dance while listening, but the music style still doesn't allow it... :grin:

Yeah, grindcore is stuff like Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, etc. Anyway, yeah, I haven't heard that album you mentioned, but the black metal I've heard has had really ridiculously stupid lyrics. Regardless of lyrics, I can't stand blast beats or that annoying black metal vocal style (I never thought someone could make their voice sound worse than death metal, but I was wrong). Blast beats are the wah pedal of drumming, they may sound cool, but they don't take much to do and they get annoying really fast.

Actually, add another genre to the stupid lyric list, Euro power metal. Stuff like Rhapsody and Stratovarius, even Blind Guardian is kind of lame lyrically...blech.

I'm in a really opinionated mood this morning :)
 
grindcore blows. death and black blow. warrel is such a great singer why does he have to do the typical growly shit. oh i forgot, its to please you whiners who have nothing better to do than hate everything and everybody.
