When other bands step into the studio

Most of the time when a band formulates a style, they stick to it for the most part. But, as we all know, sometimes a band will record songs and/or albums that are WAY out of line with their previous style. These anomalies are usually very interesting (if not sometimes terrible). NEVERMORE's song "Dreaming Neon Black" sounds like nothing else they've ever done, but remains one of their best tracks.

However, there are times when these anomaly tracks sound eerliy like another band. It's like the band in question stepped out of the studio and let another band record the track. For instance, GAMMA RAY's "Heal Me", which is by far my favorite GR track. It's very unique in the catalogue of pretty respectable speed/power metal. However, it sounds just like the 70s prog/krautrock band VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR, so much so that it's eerie. It's as if VDGG went in and recorded the song!

Can any of you think of other examples of this?
