I was looking around at a lot of metal forums and I don't really see a section for this.

I mean, there's the Self-Promotion forums and stuff but like, every time I post there looking for feedback on my band, nobody responds to the posts. That and all the other posts are basically other bands/zines/whatevers being all "New ______ Out Now!"

So, where the fuck should I post this question? I just kind of want to see what other people think of it and stuff...

I listened to A Troubled Mind Explodes and frankly it was pretty not great. The metal parts were a really bland, boring bass for the symphonic parts, and the symphonic parts were uninteresting. The entire thing lacked the slightest hint of aggression or darkness.
Autoloathe had some better stuff, but the vocals are awful. For one thing, a better mic is needed but they're still just not very good.
My Northern Queen of the Night was just pretty bad. The bit with the spoken vocals and keyboards just hurt. The vocals are a bit better here, though. The lead later on sounds good. But overall the structure doesn't make any sense or flow well, and the whole thing is just shitty.
Suicide note is probably the least shitty thing, but the production still renders it pointless in terms of creating atmosphere.

Lower your production quality, make it grittier and add more reverb.

Also, I'm not sure if it was just because of the stark contrast between quality when your vocals came on, but you need to lower your vocals so it doesn't completely overtake the rest of the music.

I have to admit I find the music highly entertaining, but your voice sucks and is mixed badly into the music.

I think im going to have nightmares from those vocals. Sounded like a crying 10 year old screaming into the mic.

But the music has some cool moments but also some very unprofessional stuff

Alright so the vocals suck, that's an easy fix.

I can actually make them sound a lot better, I have a chorus effect that can make them sound 100x better, but basically they're mixed too high in the music.

Other than the vocals, I'm getting like, mixed opinions on the music itself... so?

Like if it sucks, why does it suck, and if it's good, why is it good?

Musicians forum there's a thread for it. People are far more willing to give feedback if you also take the time to listen to their music. Got some good feedback for my own band there. PM me if you want me to listen to something in particular and I'll give you some honest feedback if you'll do the same for us, nice one dude!
