Which one? And please tell me why? Good music, cool name, dumb name, so I can waste money, because I'm metal, because I'm gay.......

The Gathering have some good tunes, i'm only familiar with their newer stuff. focus is on the vocals really, the music serves as a stage for Anneke. that's not a bad thing. :)

The Toadies of course, rule. i don't know if you're serious or not, but they only have two full lengths and one EP as far as i know. i'm sure you could pick up Rubberneck in any cut-out bin for $0.32 across the land, that album was quite popular before they went out of fashion.

oh i'm voting for some random old school Sabbath ripoff.

Pagan Altar would be good. they aren't a total ripoff, but they are the only band i've ever heard that truly carry the Sabbath tradition past 1976.

Don't you know Manegarm yet? I daresay they're your type of shit. The first Limbonic Art is a classic but the sequels are increasingly meh. The Gathering is a good band, which has succeeded in evolving from pretty untechnical ethereal metal to pretty technical trip-rock, and Anneke is the best no matter what.

Otherwise stick to Graveland :tickled:

actually, I'd lke to check 'em all out some time, except The Toadies (my wife has one of their CDs).

RE: Manegarm, something has always stopped me from buying their stuff, maybe I should since I know where to get them all for only $9 each p/p

RE: Vintersorg, I really liked Cosmic Genesis back in the day.

Limbonic Art, I've just always heard Moon in the Scorpio is a classic.

The Gathering, just curious really and I seriously lack laid back type of relax music.

Runemagick just sound cool and I'd probably enjoy 'em

I voted for The Gathering because

Then again, Snow may also be right. Frankly, I'm not sure at all if you'd like it. I love The Gathering and if I were to recommend an album I'd go with either How To Measure a Planet or the live album Sleeply Buildings if you want acoustic stuff.

I just love the shit out of The Gathering. So I voted for them. I would also think you would like Manegarm. I'm not really a fan of Viking metal (except Enslaved), but Manegarm is WAY better than almost all other Viking bands. They actually have some metal thrown in. Kind of like 'Eld'.
