Which Disk should I buy FIRST?

I would say either The Gallery or Skydancer/Of Chaos...

cool. I've considered picking up SkyDancer/Chaos, but I'd rather be able to get the Osmose discs if they ever get a chance to officially release them in the US, instead of keeping import prices

Projector is damn good album, and much better than skydancer IMHO
I know, I have said so myself (all except the better than Skydancer part, since I love that album) I meant that he will hear a lot of shit about Projector being crap, thats why I pointed out that I like that one a lot too

This issue can be discussed for ages. It's just a matter of opinion. All of DT's albums are great and which ever you choose, you will probably like it !
Well I started with Skydancer but personally I would say it doesn't matter where you start because their style changes constantly. DT is really mood music. It really depends on how u feel when you listen to one of their albums, but Gallery is king.

Not Projector, no way! Projector is a unique, "one off" album, no other DT album sounds like that so it's not representative for DT's "general" style at all and therefore the one wrong album to get into DT (aside from it being their worst album...)!
Get The Gallery, it wins every "best DT album" poll. Waiting for Damage Done is an option too, but why wait, just get 'em all.

i'd say gallery for 1st CD. it was my 1st, & it really got me into them.
i dunno about 'too raw', that's kinda assuming he's never listened to any other metal, 'cos then it's not really...

I have to pick at the first three Def Leppard albums after realizing how great their Natural Born Chaos disc is (I'm a Devin head, and yes, the joke's on you, I did refer to Soilwork in that huge ass way)

What I meant is that Projector is their most out of the ordinary album, the album that sounds least like any other DT album and therefore the least eligible album for providing someone a good picture of DT's "gerenal" sound or getting someone into DT.
I think you can say that the first three albums are more or less in the same vein, meaning that if you like The Gallery, you will probably like Skydancer and The Mind's I as well etc. Most will agree though that the The Gallery-sound is what DT is most famed for.
Projector, because is the best DT album. but my favourite DT record is casette called "Tranquillity" with "Moonclad Reflections" and "Trail Of Life Decayed". it was released only in Poland territory
