The first ever European-style Metal festival on Western Canadian soil will open its gates on the Labour Day long weekend (September 3/4, 2005): The WHIPLASH OPEN-AIR FESTIVAL!

Two days, two stages, 24 bands, camping, vendors - everything the famed European Metal festivals are known and loved for. And it's all ages!

Hi all,

Due to the recent confirmation of the Gigantour coming to Alberta on September 6 & 8, 2005, we have decided it would be in the fans best interest for us to postpone the festival that was to take place on September 3-4, 2005. We don't want the fans to have to chose between shows, for financial reasons. This festival is meant to help the scene not create a competition. So we will withdraw ourselves voluntarily this year but we will be back next year, in late June, early July.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far, sponsors, bands and fans. We appreciate your confidence in us and we will be back next year.
