White Zombie: Astro Creep 2000 Guitar Tone?

It does sound a bit like Meshuggah's tone on Chaosphere, but it also says Mesa Boogie in that wiki page. But I'm quite sure it was said it was nothing but a Recto on the album, I think it was an interview with Terry Date.

I think J started endorsing solid state marshalls around that time, but of course we know that doesn't mean that they were used recording. Terry is the man, he has produced some of my favorite records. The increase in sound quality from devil music to astro creep is huge.

Sorry, but this is my territory Bought the green iceman, the J signature. Also an 8100 and a Randall.

Astro creep was 3 Randall Century 200 amps and one Marshall 8100 Valvestate. All at the same time during a splitt kinda thing. Also different cabinets.

Read it all in guitarmagazines during that time.

Live J used Century 20 stacks, some with a tubescreamer.

Afterr the splitup of of WZ J sold some of his Randall's and he bought himself a Recto. But he never recorded a Recto.

I love the almost dance quality of the drum sounds on that record. Everything sounds huge. And Creature Of The Wheel is still one of the heaviest songs ever. Gotta love when Rob comes in with that "CREATURE OF THE WHEEL.." and sounds like fucking God or something. Damn, gotta bust that CD out now..

Yeah Kazrog.

Also owned a Ibanez IC300 (crap) and a ICB500, beautiful bassguitar.
Around the time of AstroCreep there were a lot of interviews in guitarmagazines with J an Sean about the recording.

Wow that is a really impressive sound for some solid state randalls and a solid state marshall. I have been toying around with getting an old randall head for some time now, perhaps I should. Thanks for the info.

Love the album.
Tambourine on every track.

hahaha I know, i thought i was the only one who noticed
Is funny cause it makes everything its in that nuch fuller
If someone brought that in to me making asro i would be like WTF??
he pulls it off tho :headbang:

I remember seeing him use a Korg G1 pedal for live stuff back then. Not sure if he used it on his recordings for anything. I used to have one of those pedals... it was nice... back then.
