Whitesnake?

I noticed on the B.B. site Blakkheim is wearing a Whitesnake shirt. Is there black/death metal band with the same name? The Whitesnake I know is an 80" glam/hair band and are lame. There must be another that I dont know of.

I kinda know the Whitesnake guitarist, Doug Aldrich as him and his girl came to our gig in LA...great guy! He introduced myself and Blakkheim (who was shaking!) to DC. Coverdale's opening phrase as I stepped into his dressing room was "Hello Mikael, how's the band doing?"
I gave him a copy of "Damnation" which I think he's heard before from Doug and actually liked + I got a poster signed to myself, Anna and Melinda! What a great man! We talked for 10 minutes or so, then me and Blakkie headed over to a night club, drinking...Blakkheim kept his signed Whitesnake backstage pass round his neck throughout the entire evening!

Also, he mentioned to my girlfriend something about a tattoo...

You are correct, he does make sick music I just did not think he would be into that stye. I figured there was some Swedish metal band with the same name.

I ment to offense to MR.Blakkheim. I have the highest respect for him and his music. I just associate Whitesnake with 80's glam rock bands . I never actually have listened to them. But hey I should run out and get a cd, maybe there is something I missed out on.

They came to Argentina some months ago and of course -due to financial problems- I couldn't go. That sucked.

Im a huge fan of white snake.

The Last time Opeth were in Melbourne i saw them and he mentioned a friend of his cried when they saw them live. But for the life of me i cant fucking remember the name of his friend.

I don't get why someone into metal would see this as a bad thing?!? Just like this term "cock rock" which is like a put-down generally used by people who don't want music to be about anything that isn't miserable.
I have a theory that if you don't like that so called "cock rock" style then you may be going to grow out of rock music totally within ten years max. It's only a theory though.
I liked Whitesnake, Slade, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, since the age of 10.

I looked up Cock rock on wikipedia and half the bands they list I totally dug at one point, especially Van Halen and they are way Cock rock. Hey Blakkheim That is one killer new guitar you have.
