who is going to the melbourne show on friday?

Was a bloody awesome show, they're such a top live band. The sound was a bit muddy, but thats the HiFi Bar for you. Their stage presence more than makes up for it.

It finished at around midnight, maybe a bit before. I think the support bands (who were extremely average, to put it nicely) were running a bit late. Our site should have some good photos of the gig up sometime this weekend so I'll make sure to post them here for ya's.

GREAT show!!!!!!!!!!! :kickass:

I got a couple of vids on the camera I'll try and upload asap (am on dial up  ) - some pics too, but they didn't come out real good.

Will post em if there are any worthy ones.

Shame about the sound I'd agree, but fark did the boys rock :kickass:

I hate the Hi-Fi bar. That was my first experience there and it was horrible. The sound was so bad, my ears are still ringing (i hope there's no permanent damage). I think for now on I will wear ear plugs. Yeah weak I know but I can't afford any damage to my ears. The two support acts were pitiful. I hate this deathcore trend so much. I couldn't even decipher what was being played. It was just a mess of shitty grooves and fast sloppy 'riffs'. Short hair and tank tops aren't very metal.
But then Testament made up for it. They were unbelievable. They blew my expectation. Crowd involvement was fantastic and the pit looked deadly. Every single one of them were amazing, although couldn't hear Chuck that well... probably because the crowd were so loud! :)
Sound wasn't the best but I still enjoyed it thoroughly. I'm sure Testament would be very pleased with Melbourne, its just a shame they couldn't have played at a better venue. I am never going back to the Hi-Fi Bar. I'd rather fly to Syd or Bris and see a band there. Another thing that really fucking pissed me off was that they served drinks in the bottles. I thought that wasn't allowed any more for obvious reasons? I thought they had to poor it into cups? There was glass everywhere. Fuck you Hi-Fi Bar.

Yeah good show!! Testament was the only good thing about it though!! The venue was pretty bad and the supports were bluuughgh and it was hard to hear Chuck. Other than that TESTAMENT rocked and put on a great show!! Oh and Alex played every perfectly.

i had an absolute ball! my poor megadeth shirt got ripped to shreds in the pit hahaha, lucky i bought a tour top!!!!! i'm not really a fan of the hi fi bar myself, poorly designed imo. but i still had a fantastic night :)

I usually wear plugs to gigs. It's not worth the permanent damage. FWIW, the HiFi can and has in the past sounded great (Kreator, Dark Tranquillity). You can thank the "bad sound" and volume on the engineer, not the venue though. The band had their ow who had an accent, so it definately wan't an employee of the venue. Though I did notice that things weren't going the engineers way as they were set to play (I was near the desk and could hear things going on).
