I'm aware some producers/whateverers let the band live with them while they record the album. But what if the recorder has no space for the band to live? Does the label pay for a hotel? Or does the band pay for it out of pocket?
If the band is on a label I would assume that living costs are included in the recording budget. If they're financing it themselves then they'll have to pay for it out of their own pocket just like the recording costs.
We almost always let every band that tracks at our studio stay at our place while tracking. We tack on all the added bill money for them staying onto their recording total.
Nice. Thanks everyone for the replies. This is something I've been wondering lately so figured I'd put it out there and ask in case this situation happens to me in the future.
