Either Doomcifer or IOfTheStorm I bet. Prolly Greek dude, now that I thinka bout it. CAUSE THEY GOD DAMN FUCKING RULE. So just because I can, I'm posting a new thread about them to urge everyone to listen.

http://heathendom.4t.com/

WAAAAAAAR & PAAAAAAAIN :kickass:

It's power/doom/trad metal from the depths of RULE! I dunno, Solitude Aeturnus or something isn't too far off a comparison in that it's more HEAVY METAL than DOOM with a VERY EPIC EDGE

I'm surprised you like them. Heathendom, Markgugs, is a mix between prog and power metal with nice groovy riffs and a singer that makes me think of Jag Panzer and Lost Horizon. I only heard one song, but it was pretty good and I still listen to it on some occasions. The production sounds like it was recorded some years ago though.

All the better then! I think it sounds POD and drum machine, meself (most probably because it was recorded with a POD and a drum machine) but it's very well done.

Also sounds cool; I'm finding that my tastes have moved away from loving so much power metal (except for my faves, and extremely high-quality stuff), and far more back toward trad/heavy metal. This sounds cool.

It's definitely nowhere near FLOWER METAL GAYNESS. It is HEAVY METAL SUPREMACY, and there are POWER METAL influences in the sense of METAL with POWER.

I should PM Erik with all the band recommendations i have so that he will make the thread and the oompas loompas will check the band.
Anyway yes Heathendom is one of the best new bands i heard in years, and definetally the most promising greek band now. The closest band to their sound is Memento Mori, but they have other obvious influences like Candlemass, some King Diamond and Sanctuary (especially in the vocal department).

I'll only advertise your actual GOOD band recommendations to my oompa-loompas ;)

Which, admittedly, there have been quite a few of though

btw guys, you should buy the new Savage Circus. It's sounds exactly like classy BG, think of Tales of the Twilight World with a better sound. Yeah, they talk about elves and stuff, but no gayness is found within the songs.

GREAT fucking band. I am still waiting to get my grubby hands on that demo or their next release anyways. It;s good to hear that they are discussing stuff with some labels and looking forward to releasing a full-length next year. :kickass:

Yeah, wtf, it's funny how nobody paid attention when IoTS posted about this band a few months back. :err:

:yow:

Tales + Imaginations = markgugs' favorite BG era

Lost Horizon

Their debut is unbelievable. Massively underrated speed/power/true metal. And the band pseudonyms are more obnoxious than anything on the BM circuit.

"And introducing our drummer....Preternatural Transmogrifyer"!

OK shall check out Heathendom, but only because IotS said so, not Willy. :loco:

yeah they are quite a good band, too bad the singer left though. He had the best voice in metal IMO.
