The US's only hope of holding back China was economically, and this is the first step toward erasing our advantage. I read something about how one of the major thresholds for determining which nation would win in a hypothetical war was a "loss threshold" or something similarly-named; that is, the US will accept the loss of something like 0.5% of its population before it sues for peace/withdraws. China's is something like 60 fucking percent. (It has to do with America being a hugely value-the-individual culture and China being the exact opposite).

In other words, 1-2 major-city nukes will stop us. China could eat a few dozen and the yellow tide will keep on comin'.
