Why do people hate the English?

I was talking to a Scottish mate of mine the other day who used words like 'arrogant' and 'obnoxious'
Not about me, I might add

People see English as cold people.

But as far as know you're different than the other English, tcall.

Infact it didn't change but when you go deep in personal
and change from general to personal ,everything becomes
different..
You like that person forexample,and your dislike in general format
loses its effect...
So why do I hate english?
Because they always want to be different from the others...

traffic direction right X left
very very bad food...(no national kitchen)
always raining...
kilogram X pound...

And I find them cold...

But of course these are all general ideas and I don't usually give a shit to them...(they are prejudices)
If you go in a friendship world ,the relation becomes personal,
the rules and the limits change and you dislike,like or be neutral to that person...

I feel strong antipathy towards the american, but for some reason I´ve always liked almost everything english. your tv-shows (Fizz, The Fast Show, Monty Python, Emmerdale!!!! etc) and your cars! If I was rich I´d surely buy a green Jaguar, not a bloody Mercedes!

Ofcourse there are irritating things in Britain too. Many Britts seem a bit elitistic and detatched from the rest of Europe. Inches and such things I find a bit silly too.
Also the British media seems very repulsive, from what I know about it.

Guys, I should tell you that the Imperial measurments (pounds, ounces, inches, yards, etc) are now being changed to metric. All products are sold in metric weights (except fresh fruit and veg, for some weird reason. ). I've been born and raised in Scotland surrounded by Anti-English attitudes, and the only reason they have for not liking them whenever I asked them was "because they hate us", which is total bollocks.

A message to all those who generalise:

You cannont tell what someone is like just by where they are from, that is being racists. People are different, cultures are diverse. You can meet someone who is a total arsehole, is arrogant, obnoxious, simple-minded and completely against equallity, and the next person could be someone who is open-minded, kind, thoughtful and genourous.



I don't care where someone is from, I just wait 'til I meet them to form an opinion on that person.
