I seriously highly recommend taking in a gig at Double Door, should one come you are interested in. One of my all time fav venues in Chicago, both from playing as well as attending.

I don't like the layout. It is in prime location though for those taking the public transportation. parking is crazy there. Always has good sound though.

Bob, what about the layout of DD don't you like???
Is it the staircase that goes downstairs in the middle of the floor?

It's a very comfortable venue, that angles outward on the one side by the bar which makes viewing the stage easy even if in back.

I don't like the poles that block the stage from the back, there is a lot of wasted space on the far left stage area. I don't hate the place but the layout needs some fixing.

Yeah, its not really geometrically perfect, but I like it.
