You know bands always slap stickers on their cd's, that drop names of bands that will grab your
attention? Widow did just that, they mention Judas Priest & Mercyful Fate. Two great bands in metal. After inserting the disc into the player, I heard a track that is very close to that of Mercyful Fate. It's traditional metal, dual guitars, melodic solos, bombastic drums & bass. The sound could be described as a cross between power metal with black metal overtunes. Singer John E. has a dual role, he serves as guitarist, as well. He delivers a convincing performance on Midnight Strikes. Clocking in at a mere 32 minutes & 8 tracks, the only let down for me was that it ended too soon. I wanted to hear more. Midnight Strikes is a solid slab of "Heavy Metal" none the less. So while you are waiting for the next Force of Evil or the next Mercyful Fate records, check out Widow, they are
in the same league with those bands.
