In postpubescent life, have you ever had a close female "best friend" who you got on with well, enjoyed (and felt totally comfortable in) their company and basically done all the things friends do!

Note: if you were either in their pants or aiming to get in there, then that doesn't count. (or the other way around)

It also doesn't count if it was someone you met once for a few days, I'm talking a serious connection with another human being over a significant amount of time. Internet friends don't count.

Edit: if you're now dating/married to them then go ahead with "yes and still do", just as long as you had genuine friendship beforehand.

Edit2: it's ok to think they're hot, that's not the same as making efforts to get in their pants

My only ever, true "best friend" is female, we don't hang much these days as she went a bit crazy for a while but I've always had a better friendship with women than I have guys.

any other close friends that I'd share anything with or rather hang out with are female and I definitely don't aim to get in the pants of these women.

BE WARNED. having female friends will almost ruin 99% of your relationships, women will always be jealous bitches and don't understand the term "just friends"(but with the inappropriateness of most males I don't blame them for lack of trust) It's happened to me way to many times so just be very cautious, it sucks balls when you cant hang with your best friend...

Dude......grow long hair and a beard....puts most of the ladies off most of the time hahaha :p

I've always had close female friends,
pronounced mad love to one (hooray for young rejection)
now dating the most recent and loving it :)

other than those 2 it's always just been friends, it's never seemed a problem to keep things that way.

One of my very best friends is a girl. We dated a long time ago, and hated each other for a while after, but for the past 4 years it's been pretty gravy.

I'm not actively trying to fuck her, but I still would if given the choice - does that still count? Statistically, guys won't be friends with girls they wouldn't fuck, anyways.

 :erk:
Somehow true (and sad btw). I've been "good friends" with two girls and I never tried to get in their pants, allthough I wouldn't say no.. I think if you are really good friends, it has to do with respect and making her feel secure to NOT try to fuck her. You can secretly think about it, but don't you dare to make the first move

That's fine, the only reason i put that stuff about not trying to fuck her is to make the distinction between girls you chase after and talk to because you want to a)just put your dick in her or b)want a relationship and the girls who really are just friends!

I'm friends with girls I wouldn't fuck... some girls do have other qualities XD

However, to be totally honest, unless one is gay and the other lesbian, or there's a huge age gap, I think there'll always be some sexual tension on at least one side of the relationship. It doesn't mean you can't be friends, but you're never going to have a bromance with a chick.

Fair call, my statement stands! :D

...trolling, right?

I'll have to findthe study, but there was one done a few years back that we read in a psychology class that found that, statistically, girls will be friends with guys they would never have sex with, while men won't befriend girls they wouldn't.

Not close friends, but friends, sure. You don't meet anyone with common interests that you find totally unattractive?

edit: perhaps an example? A chick I know who's really smart and creative @ uni, really interesting like that. However she's a little socially awkward, totally disregards looking nice or even putting on makeup, and is uber-christian. However, there's a little sexual tension from her side to me.. I think there always will be in male/female relationship.

I had a few friends before, but lost touch with 'em after I started dating my now-wife. My wife hated most of my female friends, so I had to make a choice. My wife was also a great friend until we got drunk, slept together, vomited on each other..them our relationship disappeared until shortly after we got together :D

A lot of the best friends I have and have had are women, I don't have to be concerned about what I say with them, they can handle guy talk shit but also vulnerability. (I'm a very emotionally open person)

I've spoken with my guy friends in the same way (That I would with my girlfriends) and they just don't know how to take it.

Some of them (my girl friends) I would have gone crazy over and some I would HATE to get involved with.

The only time my guy friends get me in the same way is when they're in a really bad place.

Again, statistically, not "as a rule." Aren't most of your chick friends attractive, or at least ones that you'd sleep with? (I like how those two are not necessarily the same thing. )
