Check out the Interview with David and preview of the new album on The Governor's Ball (http://www.thegovernorsball.com)

Once again it’s time to raise your mead horns and fire up the summer grill in honour of another dose of mighty metal hilarity on The Governor’s Ball!

In this episode The Governor brings you two interviews with progressive metal frontmen. First he speaks to Joe Duplantier of France’s Gojira about nature and the metaphysical. Then The Governor chats with David Gold of Ontario’s Woods of Ypres about self-releasing and his upcoming album Woods 4: The Green Album, and spins a brand track from the record.

Plus on "Some Sly Advice" Sly talks about his adventures at Toronto’s Taste of the Danforth Festival.

Edit: The new track sounds good.

Just listened.. and was already blown away by the new track. Love the direction, and the recording sounds great. I can't wait to hear what the mastered version sounds like (and the whole album, obviously)....

I couldn't figure out who David's clean vocals reminded me of.... it just clicked though, and I'm sure DG will appreciate it....

Michael Poulsen of Volbeat....

Just listened to the interview and new track......and I'm glad I already have my money sent for the pre-order! :kickass: I can definitely feel the Pursuit of the Sun and Allure of the Earth in it, but a hell of a lot more as well. Not so much retreading old ground, but going on a crushing deathmarch over it and building it anew. Very much looking forward to hearing the rest of the album and where you take the other songs!

The new song is excellent. I am eagerly anticipating the new album. I wish that the current tour was coming to the US. I am encouraged by David's assertion that a US tour is being planned for 2010. I will be there.

I haven't finished listening to the interview yet, so maybe you answer this quesiton, but I just wanted to ask it before I forget:

Dave, you said that it's similar in to Green Carnations album in that it's like one song - does that mean that different songs have reacurring musical themes (certain melodies, main riffs and so on)?

I must have listened to the new song about 8 times yesterday, and I'm ready to listen to it again. Such an amazing song, and I am damn sure the rest of the album will be just as good.
