Hi everyone,

I've been checking out this forum for a few years now however this is the first time that I've actually decided to post some of my own material so here it is:

https://soundcloud.com/lydian81/work-in-progress

NB: It's only instrumental at the moment however I will at some point be adding some vocals (i.e. screaming) to it.

Cheers

Very nice music ,regarding vocal you have a lot space for clean singing , I have listen all 3 tracks on soundcloud and all have same in common , it's to much midranged ,try to 'open' guitars and drums in high end and give drums more live with some reverb .Play round ,experiment that's the only way, cheers.

Thanks for the feedback mate (I certainly do tend to low pass a bit too much on most instruments).

I've now made some adjustments to one of the examples as per your suggestions and here's an example of it:

If you could let me know whether it now sounds a bit more balanced that would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Definitely better ,high end added more dynamics to the mix.Currently listening on headphones so maybe I'm wrong but guitars low end is overpowering mix. What I would do is to fit bass and guitar more it's like they figth for spot in mix and add more bite to the guitar with bus send and scoping anywhere form 1-5 khz just add more pick/string attack and maybe more reverb for snare ,and only one thing that's strange in both mixes are cymbals/overheads sounding really distant in mix from rest of the drums and mix.But this is just personal taste and even like this this is very very good.
