I was reading Mike's bio on the new Opeth site and really enjoyed his comments on James Lomenzo, the Megadeth bassist. Lomenzo's first ever band was White Lion.
That's fucking awesome cause White Lion was one of the coolest bands of the 80's. Sure they got lumped in with all those other hair bands, but musically they were on a totally different level. Their guitar player, Vito Bratta, to this day remains unrivaled in terms of songwriting in that genre.
White Lion was right up there with bands like Skid Row, Scorpions, Giant, and Dokken and so much more than those pussies in Poison and Motley Crue.
I wish Mike had asked him about the whereabouts of Vito. Too bad the guy disappeared off the face of the earth.
