No don't get me wrong I really want to get one of these actually, from what I've read though the older ones are better for guitars whereas the newer ones are better for toms, so I'm on the hunt for an old one.

Ah ok! Yeah I think you're right.... but it seems to be pretty difficult to get an old one in good condition!!! (actually never seen that myself)

EDIT - As you already know Jacob Hansen is familiar with the old ones as he uses them for toms and guitars... omfg what a sound! He's actually the guy that convinced me - through his productions, not personally - to try 421 on guitars and bass.

I've seen a bunch of older models on ebay in ok condition for around £185 buy it now, the better condition ones tend to go for a bit more.

Exact usually a bit more expensive. I just took a look right now and saw a guy selling one in case, etc. but not buy it now. Wait and see....

Just nabbed myself a old white 421 (U) on ebay, wish I'd gone for one of the better condition ones that sold earlier in the week but I'd wanted to see how a couple of auctions went tonight, after they didn't go well I decided fuck it I'll grab one of the BIN ones before they all disappear.

£180 and free postage, not bad I reckon...

Hehe I just grabbed one for 190€ and free postage too in 'buy it now'. The guy includes an adapt. Tuchel/XLR. Pretty good condition.
I also bought the mic pre Pre-73 by GoldenAge as second hand (but bought two months ago!) for a good price I think (170&#8364 I can't wait to try these on guitar!!!
